project history The project was initiated in 2007 to fulfill the needs of a fledgling credit union. The intention is to produce a credible open source platform for use by credit unions and community banks.

The solution is now taking shape well on LAMP utilising Code Ignitor for its MVC framework and is being developed with the intention of easy deployment on any Ubuntu platform. The code for cubanker (package name) is now being released under a GPL licence and all the design work, documentation and other non executable material (excluding images) will be released under a Creative Commons licence.
project status Current activities:
  • Complete the functional requirements - Big Book
  • Complete CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) forms
  • Create Launchpad PPA
  • Complete the design
  • Systematically work on the implementation
Community banks and credit unions share much of the ethos of open source, the fundamental belief that together we are stronger and more capable.

It is great to see initiatives like Community Banker focus on ensuring that these organisations can better serve their own communities by leveraging the power of open-source software."
